Keynote Speaker: Dr. Larry Cohen - Playful Parenting and the Art of Roughhousing

We are honored to present Dr. Larry Cohen of Playful Parenting and the Art of Roughhousing. This award winning expert will share his insights and experience based on feedback he has received over his 30 years coaching parents and children. Dr. Cohen will help us better understand why children need play. Dr. Cohen is quick to point out that no matter what your child's temperament, she has a playful side. In its most basic form, play is a way to communicate. He examines, with plenty of hilarious personal anecdotes, the details of play at every age and across genders, we're shown the exuberant truth behind playing: not only is it just plain fun, it can spark a variety of important sensations, and can act as a segue into meaningful and important conversations to share with your child. Dr. Cohen will present his Keynote Speech on Saturday, March 10.

On Friday morning, we are pleased to present a workshop with Dr. Tina Bryson. Dr. Bryson is the co-author of the critically acclaimed book, The Whole-Brain Child. During this Two Hour Double Session Kick-Off Presentation, Tina will share the revolutionary, scientific, and super-practical approach of taking everyday struggles and using brain science to guide us in the moment: when your child’s tantrum erupts, when her fears and phobias take a toll on the whole family, when he gets stuck sulking, and when his anger gets the better of him.

In addition to the presentations by Dr. Cohen and Dr. Bryson, the 2012 CCPPNS Convention will offer world class speakers and presenters for the scheduled workshops. Join us as we learn to enrich the magical years that we spend with the children in our lives.

Registration Fee for the convention speakers and workshops are as follows:

Prior to February 24, 2012:
$95.00 per person/$120 per couple of the same household.

After February 24, 2012:
$115.00 per person/$140 per couple of the same household.
