MEMBER AWARD DESCRIPTIONSTeacher/Director:Given to teachers and directors who have given outstanding service to cooperative preschools. Who may be considered? Teachers and directors currently employed by a member school. (Note: A minimum of 25 letters of endorsement are required to be considered.) Who decides? Awards Committee. Presented with? A certificate and a memory book. Community Service Award:Awards to (1) individuals or organizations within the community who have gone beyond normal services to help parent participation nursery schools, regional or state councils; or (2) individual preschools who contribute to the community through special services or activities. Who may be considered? Members and non-members. Who decides? Awards Committee. Presented with? A certificate. Award of Merit:Awarded to an individual who has greatly assisted a preschool or regional council or to a member of CCPPNS who has provided an outstanding service to a preschool, regional council or to CCPPNS. Who may be considered? Current board members of CCPPNS, regional council presidents, member families. Who decides? Awards Committee. Presented with? A certificate. Teacher/Director Life Achievement Award:This is a special award designed to honor a teacher or director who has devoted a significant portion (many years) of her/his life in service of the parent participation movement. (Note: A minimum of 25 letters of endorsement are required to be considered. For this award it is customary to include letters from alumni parents and students, community members and leaders, and family members.) Who may be considered? A teacher or director who has served a member nursery school for an extended period of time. Who decides? Awards Committee. Presented with? Life-time membership in CCPPNS, a certificate and a CCPPNS pin, and memory book. Recipient shall also receive CCPPNS publications and convention fees waived. Katherine Whiteside-Taylor Award:Given to working teams on the CCPPNS board who have demonstrated effective shared leadership skills and cooperation in accomplishing set goals. Who may be considered? Current board members of CCPPNS. Who decides? Awards Committee. Presented with? A certificate. Honorary Award:Given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the parent participation nursery school movement, regional councils and CCPPNS. Who may be considered? Current board members of CCPPNS. Who decides? Awards Committee. Presented with? Lifetime membership in CCPPNS, a certificate and a pin or pendant. Recipient shall also receive all CCPPNS publications and convention registration and banquet expenses waived. Life Award:This unique award is rarely given and shall be presented to an individual who, through extended service and exemplary leadership, has made a lasting impression on the character and degree of excellence of the parent participation nursery school movement and CCPPNS. Who shall be considered? Current CCPPNS board members and alumni board members. Who decides? Awards Committee. Presented with? Lifetime membership in CCPPNS, a certificate and a pin or pendant. Recipient shall also receive all CCPPNS publications and convention registration and banquet expenses waived. Vera Kelliher Award:This award represents an outpouring of affection for a CCPPNS member who, in the opinion of her/his peers, best exemplifies the qualifications of selfless dedication and service we remember in Vera Kelliher. Who may be considered? Everyone who serves at CCPPNS, as a delegate, appointed officer, committee chair, regional council president or member of the executive board, except for the President.
